Ivan Gamba’s film, “Rockaway Beach,” will screen Wednesday night as part of the MyBlockNYC film festival. Gamba goes to Richmond Hill High School.
They may be little, but they have a lot to say.Eleven teen documentary filmmakers — three from Queens and two from the Bronx — are making their big screen debut Wednesday night, the final phase of a project that paired school students with video cameras.The goal of the MyBlockNYC Education Foundation program was to get the young visionaries to capture their neighborhoods and their lives on camera.Honorees include: Kassandra Luyando, Jade Minott and James Fernandez of the Bronx and Sarawat Juthy and Ivan Gamba of Queens.Gamba’s film, “Rockaway Beach,” focuses on the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.Children’s documentaries, Sony Wonder Technology Lab, 550 Madison Ave. in Manhattan, July 10, 6 p.m.
